Greenpoint Coworking offers premium individual desks in an open plan format in a prime business location in the heart of Cape Town. Located in The Foundry in Green Point, we are a stone’s throw from the City Centre, the Cape Town International Convention Centre, the V&A Waterfront, numerous hotels, and the Sea Point Promenade. Our desks are comfortable, and feature neat cable storage trays as well as lockable cubbies for your convenience.
General facilities include: shelves of literature, a comfortable breakroom with seating for eating and a couch for chilling, two rooms for skype/calls and ad-hoc meetings, air conditioning, kitchen (cappuccino machine, kettle, microwave, fridge, freezer), and sufficient open floor space for small events. There are also convenient facilities in the building, such as Beluga (sushi / cocktails and fine dining), hairdressers, massage & male grooming services.
We accept cold hard cash, credit card, and snapscan.
Where is Greenpoint Coworking?
We all know that the most important factor in choosing a coworking space is how easily you can get there from your home base, so check us out on the map. If we are close enough, join us for the magic:
- Unlimited Coffee
- Uncapped Fibre
- Unleashed Potential
How to get to us
Greenpoint Coworking is located on the first floor of The Foundry, at 74 Prestwich Street, Green Point. The 24/7 reception & security desk is at the end of Cardiff Street (just off Prestwich), where there is also ample visitor parking for R10/hour. The area is also plentiful with street parking, although this gets quite busy between 10am - 4pm.
In the area, Ebenezer Road connects to the V&A Waterfront, Prestwich Street connects to Buitengracht (in that direction only), and the Gallows Hill MyCiTi bus stop is a minute’s walk away on Somerset Road. There is also a MyCiti stop across the road from Cape Quarter.
Once you get to The Foundry, you can walk in from the courtyard side (just behind Beluga) or from Cardiff Street. Reception will have to let you up to the first floor as the lifts and stairs are access controlled. You could walk in through the parking lot from Ebenezer, and this will bring you to reception as well (but the visitor parking entrance is on the Cardiff Street side).
Get out the lift on the first floor, turn right, walk down the corridor past the weird little corner, and you’ll see our signage on the glass doors on the left. Ring the doorbell and we will let you in.
What makes Greenpoint Coworking special?
Technical specs for the desks
1100mm x 600mm working surface, with an easily accessible cable tray underneath so that you can use as much of that surface as possible for creating awesomeness. The lockable cubby measures 300mm x 300mm x 550mm - enough for a laptop or a mountain of snacks.
Technical specs for the boardroom
8-seater air-conditioned boardroom table, on ergonomic chairs. 55-inch 4K television so that your presentations don’t fade like a VGA projector from the Paleolithic. Chromecast Ultra (4K), Windows PC & HDMI cable for connectivity. Whiteboard for those with legible handwriting.
Technical specs for the war room
6-seater boardroom table, but the room is mainly intended for 4 or fewer inhabitants. Window onto the street makes it quite comfortable for a long strategy session.
Technical specs for the skype room
1-seater skype desk, coffee table and 3 lightweight chairs allow multiple arrangements.
Technical specs for the internet
50Mbps symmetrical fibre through RSAWeb. Local servers speedtest at about 40Mbps (4ms ping) and international servers at about 15Mbps (150ms ping). Our connectivity is uncapped, but we request good net behaviour.

In the connected millennium, striking out and doing your own thing is tantalisingly possible, and there are many rewards. However, this lifestyle can get lonely, and it is nice to have kindred spirits around to inspire you. Greenpoint Coworking was founded in July 2016 to bring together a community of likeminded solo entrepreneurs and small teams, to boost the networking potential and creative flow that a stimulating work space can create.
The husband and wife team who manage the space have a colourful history of entrepreneurial ventures, and are familiar with the growing pains of an startup lifestyle. They are intent on addressing as many of these concerns as possible with this space.
